Castlewarren, Barnahely, Co. Cork, Republic of Ireland

The ruined house had long lost its grounds before a road improvement scheme was proposed to run past it. The geophysical survey detected enclosures that may have been associated with the castle, also an old road rising from the coastal inlet. In other parts of the field, linear features and part of a prehistoric settlement were found.
