Henllan Chapel Site, Builth Wells, Powys, Wales

ArchaeoPhysica carried out an electrical resistance survey over the suspected site of the "old church" at Henllan, Builth Wells. The site lies on a prominent knoll and some earthworks were visible at the time but much more detail lay beneath the turf and daffodils ...

The geophysical data revealed a good range of features. The visible earthworks turned out to form part of a polygonal churchyard boundary; a basic plan of the church was established and another, presumably earlier, oval churchyard boundary was detected. In places individual burial cuts were identified.
