Snowdonia National Park, Wales Many pastoral remains exist, such as shepherd's huts. There are also prehistoric settlements and field systems scattered over the hillsides, sharing the slopes with slate quarrying and copper mines. A database containing the recorded information was made. In addition the use of GIS enabled patterns in the distribution of monuments to be studied, with other factors such as aspect, intervisibility etc. Overall, more than 800 monuments were recorded and over 1000 photographs taken.
